Viva Sta. Rita!

Happy Fiesta! every year on the 22nd of May here in Pulungmasle Guagua we celebrate the Feast of Sta. Rita de Cascia;
 Rita was married at an early age to an abusive husband. The marriage lasted for 18 years, during which she is remembered for her Christian values as a model wife and mother who made efforts to convert her husband from his abusive behavior. Upon the murder of her husband by another feuding family, she sought to dissuade her sons from revenge.
The Roman Catholic Church, under the pontificate of Pope Leo XIII officially canonized Rita on May 24, 1900, while her feast day is celebrated every May 22. In many pious Catholic countries, Rita is known to be a patroness for abused wives and mourning women.
Traditionally my family prepares food for everyone.

YES! everyone is welcome to our house, we usually invite friends but even those who were not can come and celebrate with us. Even strangers come; they usually say "happy fiesta po, makiki fiesta po kami, taga mexico po kami" or kung saan man sila galing :)

If you think that it's dangerous to let strangers come to your house in this case i'll prove you wrong, so far nothing bad happened in the past years that we celebrate the feast. I guess even bad guys still have a soft spot in their hearts. The feast of sta.Rita is a time to celebrate and be happy, gather and share blessings.

We have Pancit, Chicken Teriyaki, Adobong Alimango, Asado, Buttered Vegetables,Vegetabl e Salad, Fried Tilapia, Bringhe

Bringhe, is the Filipino version of Paella; its the yellow rice that sits next to the plain rice. It has chicken, pork and carrots.

We have HIGANTES! :D
